About us

Parrys Jewellers is a family owned and operated business in Coffs Harbour, NSW, Australia. It was established in 1975 by Jane & Cyril Parry.

Cyril Parry joined the Jewellery industry at the age of 15 as an apprentice watchmaker in Sydney. After completing his 6 year apprenticeship and qualifying as a watchmaker he moved to Coffs Harbour in 1960 and took up a position at Neville Alcock Jewellers. He continued to work there until the opportunity to purchase this business arose. It was in 1975, with his wife, Jane by his side, that Parrys Jewellers started it's journey.

Parrys Jewellers was one of three jewellers located in Coffs Harbour in 1975 and Cyril & Jane had a clear vision to establish themselves as the premier jewellery store. They offered their customers exceptional customer service, quality and uniqueness which set them apart.

Jane had a flair for art & fashion and is still remembered today for her immaculate presentation and her keen eye for detail. Jane & Cyril travelled overseas frequently to purchase unusual pieces from around the globe to ensure that their customers were kept up to date with world trends. Italy was one of their favourite destinations and they were able to select many wonderful 18ct gold pieces.

Michael joined his parents working in the store from a young age, helping out and it was Michael who after completing his engineering degree at Sydney University, decided to open his own store in Grafton, calling it Parrys Jewellers in 1990.

Michael had gained considerable knowledge from his parents and went on to study to be a Gemologist qualifying in 1994. He soon had a strong following in Grafton and established himself as the leading jewellery store

Michael met his partner Deborah in 2003 in Coffs Harbour and it was in 2010 that Parrys Jewellers opened its Flagship store in its current location, Coffs Harbour. Michael & Deborah have a strong commitment to customer care & satisfaction which is evident from the moment you walk through the door. They are about quality, individuality, and moving customers away from disposable jewellery.

“Each piece should tell a story and stand the test of time” explains Deborah

“Since re-opening in Coffs harbour we have had many of my parents previous customers into the store with stories of purchasers they made from them. It is always wonderful for Deborah & I to hear that Parrys Jewellers has played a part in their lives.” says Michael

Michael & Deborah have 4 son’s between them, Henry, Jordan, Alex & Elliott. We do hope that one of boys will decide to carry the Parry name forward.
